ENGAGEMENT THAT ENTHRALS
NTUC Fairprice Cooperative Ltd grew out of the labour movement in 1973, with a social mission to rationalise the cost of living in Singapore. Guided by the philosophy to do good for the community, NTUC FairPrice had set up the FairPrice Foundation in 2008 to focus on its efforts for the society. FairPrice Foundation focuses its attention on three strategic thrusts – the poor and needy, nation building & community bonding, and advancing workers’ welfare.
In 2014, FairPrice introduced Scan2Go initiative to enhance customers’ shopping experience and achieve higher productivity. FairPrice also commemorated the topping out of its FairPrice Hub last year, which will house a new high-tech distribution centre, offices and commercial space.
The group has various awards and accolades to its credit. NTUC FairPrice was awarded the ‘Singapore Service Class Certification’ in recognition of having management systems and processes in place to achieve service excellence in the year 2014. Apart from this, it was also ranked first by Generation X Shoppers in the category of ‘Supermarket’ in a survey by Brand Alliance Group for Influential Brands.
